A native of Southern Ohio, Billy Holderby completed his Graduate Artist Certificate from the University of North Texas in May 2019. During his time at UNT, Billy has performed with the Concert Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Baroque Orchestra, and the Wind Symphony. He can be heard on the most recent Wind Symphony recordings. Billy earned his B.F.A. in Horn Performance from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. In 2010, he was a winner of the Marshall University Concerto competition where he performed the first movement of Strauss’ Horn Concerto, No. 1 with MU’s Symphony Orchestra. He completed two Master’s degrees at Ohio University in both Horn Performance and Brass Performance Pedagogy. While at Ohio University, Billy served as a horn graduate assistant. Billy has also performed with such groups as the Huntington Symphony Orchestra, River Cities Symphony, Milal Orchestra and the Richardson Symphony Orchestra. Billy currently maintains an active studio in the Frisco and Lewisville school districts.
